A large set of dramatic buffet or luncheon china is signed by famous Midcentury Modern designer, Sascha Brastoff of California in the Surf Ballet pattern in platinum and pink. Included are 19 plates, 24 cups and a large free form platter. The noted designer (1917-1993) was also an actor before his design career, when the Rockefeller family was his patron. This set dates from the 1950-60 era, and there are numerous small chips on almost half of the pieces plus some crazing or crackling of the glaze. Please note damages. Plates are 10 1/2 diameter and have a well for a cup, cups are 3 tall, and the undamaged platter is 18 long and 14 1/2 wide. Shipping, packing and insurance in the U.S. is $125.
