July 2022, Saxony, Althen Bei Leipzig: Tom Birkner transports new dark red water lilies of the variety "Escarboucle" between the white water lilies he wants to plant here in his water plant nursery Krause with dog "Charlie". In recent years, too many koi have nibbled the shoots of the dark red "queens of the ponds", which are particularly sought after by customers, and thus prevented them from growing. Around 20 varieties of water lilies and other aquatic plants grow on an area of around 5,000 square meters for customers throughout Germany.
